Rules of Poker - Texas Hod'em

Texas Hold 'Em is the version of Poker played in most casinos, and seen on the Travel's Chanell T.V World Poker Tour and ESPN's World Series of Poker. These are the basic rules for Texas Hold 'Em Poker.

In texas hold’em, players receive two downcards as their personal hand (holecards), after which there is a round of betting. Three board cards are turned simultaneously (called the 'flop') and another round of betting occurs.

The next two board cards are turned one at a time, with a round of betting after each card. The board cards are the community cards, and a player may use any five-card combination from among the board and his personal cards. A player may even use all of the board cards and no personal cards to form a hand ('play the board').
A dealer button is used. The usual structure is to use two blinds, but it is possible to play the game with one blind, multiple blinds, an ante, or combination of blinds plus an ante.

Texas Hold'em is a community card game where the players combine their hole cards with the community cards placed open on the table to make the best possible five card hand.
In Texas Hold'em blinds are used as forced bets to initiate more action. There is the small blind and the big blind. The size of the small blind is equivalent to half the size of the big blind.

The dealer button is used to mark the person representing the dealer. The dealer button is a round plate positioned in front of the player who's sitting on dealer position. The dealer button moves clockwise one step after each hand is over. To sit on this spot is called sitting on the button.

There are four betting rounds in Texas Hold'em: Those all have their own names which are; pre-flop, flop, turn and river.
In Fixed Limit the structure of betting is divided in two. On the first two betting rounds players make small bets and on the last two betting rounds they make the big bets. In No Limit a player can bet any amount above minimum up to the chips left in front him or her. The minimum bet is equal to the big blind or the size of a previous bet on that betting round. In Pot Limit a player can bet or raise up to the size of the pot.

Standard for Texas Hold'em is that one bet and three raises are allowed before the betting is capped and it is no longer possible to raise anymore (exception here is if only two players are remaining at the start of the betting round they can bet as many times they wish.
